Full Day Bee Workshop - Queen Bee Rearing and the Wonderful World of Native Bees
The team at Ella’s Farm is excited to introduce you to the fascinating world of bees and their importance to our future existence.
We are running a Full Day Workshop on both the Honey Bees and the Native Stingless Bee.
Join us to delve into how to Raise your own Queen Bees. This will ensure the future of Honey bees. Discomver the knowledge and skills you need to raise Honey Bee QUEENS.
Queens give you the independence for the future as well as income source that future proof agriculture, nature and out food production
You only have to raise a few Queen Bees to pay for this course and to ensure the future.
During the workshop we will gain a full understanding of the basics of bee keeping.
We will be looking at:
How a hive is constructed and the different types of boxes
How the nests are structured
The different “members” of a colony and their various roles
The life cycle of bees
A bee’s basic anatomy
What is swarming, and how to combat and take advantage of this phenomenon
How to successfully prepare your garden for bees
You will have the rare opportunity to observe both the Honey bee and the Native stingless bee in on-site live colonies. These amazing creatures are one of the most important pollinators on the planet, and their positive impact on our lives is enormous.
Of course, all of your questions are welcome throughout the course.
Kevin Tracy, the owner/manager of BEE ZONE Apiaries, will be teaching this informative and practical course. Kevin is not only a Queen bee breeder and producer, but he holds a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, a Certificate 3 Beekeeping and is a contract trainer with the Department of Primary Industries and Local College in Honey bee Education.
Last October’s presentation of “An Introduction to Bees” here at Ella’s Farm was a resounding success, and impressed both our students and guests alike. Following this success, we have decided to continue spreading the Bee word and provide regular explorations into the wonderful world of these amazing creatures.

Meet the teachers
Ella Forsyth
Course Facilitator: Bachelor Teaching, Bachelor Environmental Science, Bachelor Naturopathy. Ella grew up and worked in conventional agriculture throughout her childhood and corporate career in logistics. Ella concisely conveys her extensive environmental and basic sciences knowledge alongside her passion for sustainable farming and waste management.
Veronica Kaczmarowski
Veronica Kaczmarowski is a naturopath, nutrition therapist, a qualified chef in international cuisine, experienced coach and public speaker, as well as a consultant in healthy recipe/menu development and collaborative writer for two specialized wellness books with the renowned Spa Eastman, Canada.
Prioritizing a global and integrative approach, Veronica works with ancestral food preparation techniques, the anti-inflammatory principles of Dr. Jean Seignalet and the natural, holistic functioning of the human body.
Veronica has now spent thirty years travelling, living and working in different cultures and countries around the world, observing traditional culinary practises and life styles.
Presently in Australia, she continues her passion for ‘food as medicine’ as Chef in Residence at Ella’s Farm, supporting our guests in their discovery of the truly nourishing permaculture way of life.
